Women's Ministries has added a few new faces. We are happy to announce that Sue Haberly is coming onto the team as our Spiritual and Visionary Leader. Virginia Smith has agreed to take over the leadership role as administrator of the Women's Ministry Team. We are excited to begin the Lord's work as a new team.
Recently, we traveled to Blue River to check out a possible location for our 2011 Women's Retreat. We toured the grounds in awe and quickly agreed that this site was exactly what we were looking for.
The McKenzie River Mountain Resort sits off the bank of the Blue River, tucked quaintly beneath a grove of tall Douglas Fir trees. The resort offers lovely cabins and cozy bunkhouses for our comfort. A large gathering room with a coffee bar and corner fireplace will be ideal for our worship and devotional meetings. There are 26 miles of walking trails along the river for anyone who may want to venture outdoors.
The date of the retreat will be October 7-9, 2011. Mark your calendars for: "Perceiving New Things".
Forget the former things;
Do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:18-19
During our time in Blue River, we spent hours talking about how we could establish opportunities for ladies to come together in fun, welcoming and encouraging ways, by praying for the Lord's direction in the planning of these events. Below are just a few of the functions we felt lead to create.
- The Singing Valentines'
- His Miss America
- Ladies' 3rd Quarter Events
Watch for more information on the retreat and other upcoming events, as details become available, in the weekly church bulletins and here on the church website.
It is an honor to serve in this capacity. Your Women's Ministry Team will be seeking God's will to serve the women of the Riverside well.
Privileged to Serve,
Virginia Smith
